Exercise for Fitness
Posted: November 20, 2007May 28, 2005: Been a while since I have quited from Fitness First. Almost 4 years ago, I joined Fitness First with my gf, P at Menara Maxis. We were working around that area back then. Actually we just joined for fun and to kill our time after work. We hardly worked out and utilized any of the machines there. Only joined the group exercise class once a while. Most of our spent in sauna and steam bath. As far as we can see, lots of people were really into working out. They were the regular gym freak and would hardly miss a single day exercising in the gym. Can’t deny, those people were fit, really fit. After few months, we terminated our membership together and went separate ways.
Four years later, we were at California Fitness @ Midvalley. We had decided to commit ourselves to gym again. We were seriously into exercising this time. Time has passed, our age has increased. Finally, we had to do something to take care of our health and fitness. At the same time, I wanted to slim down too. P has never had this problem. She was naturally thin. Her target was to learn yoga. I was into cardiovascular exercise. It was painful when I first started. Body arching and muscles pain everywhere. I had to keep motivated myself not to give up. Exercising became easier after some time. Then, I began to join some group x classes like body combat, hi-lo and steps. Somehow, I like steps the best. I’m still doing steps until now. P has terminated her membership at California Fitness last year. She is with Yoga Zone now. Anyhow, I don’t see myself slimming down that much because I eat a lot and I’m not into healthy eating. But my fitness level and stamina have definitely improved a lot. Actually, there are many reasons for you to start exercising. Stamina building, strength training, flexibility improving, muscles developing and etc….Just remember to do it in a proper way. Do seek for professional guidance (anyway, it’s FOC!) to be familiar with the machines. I think exercising can prolong aging process too. I can see lotsa real life examples at gym everyday. Bet you can’t tell their age by looking at them. Some of them can be fitter than a 18 years old boy/girl!
