Traditional French Manicure No More!

The skin around my nails was dried. I couldn’t help it anymore but to cut them away. My nail color was fading and chipping off as well. I have no time for a manicure. It was pathetic. I was trying hard to squeeze sometime to do it. Finally, the opportunity came. I left my office early for two appointments around Damansara area yesterday. I hurried finish up my work and took the liberty to do my manicure…hurray!!!

My friend recommended me to this place called The Nail Shop in Centrepoint (will provide the location details in my next post). It’s cheap compare to others nail shop in town. But they don’t provide scrubbing service. Pure trimming and coloring only. Anyway, it doesn’t matter to me. Just a tryout, I asked for French Manicure. Refer to Wikipedia , French manicures may have originated in the 18th Century at Paris and were popular in the 1920s and 1930s. The style is chosen because it is very simple and give nails a natural and clean look. French manicures are characterized by a natural pink base nail with white tips. It resembles a natural nail. The tips of the nail are painted white while the rest of the nail is polished in a pink or a suitable nude shade. I would say French Manicure is very good for short and square nails.

Unlike the classic French Manicure, the manicurist did a trendy version of French for me. She suggested to use shimmer silver as base with fuchsia tips. The outcome was cool. Too bad, if I have better color sense, I would have choose my own colors!
